My work consists of both transparent watercolor paintings on 140 pound arches paper and soft pastel paintings on various papers. I work both on site and in the studio. I work from life and use sketches, drawings, watercolor studies and original photographs to complete paintings in the studio. Still Life compositions are composed and finished in the studio. Certified framers custom frame each piece using archival materials and clear conservation glass treated to block ultraviolet light. I choose each of three mats, determine the mat footprint and select the custom frame. Only original works are available.
I was born in 1951. Art became a favorite class in high school where my first watercolor commission was completed in 1965. Briefly distracted, by the "extreme parenting" fad, 35 years passed before empty-nester status allowed me to commit to art on a full time basis.
I am correctly accused and creatively possessive of being a "self taught artist". Emancipated by the endorsement of my clients, I embrace and energetically express the rights of my self authored [and copyrighted] "ARTISTICK LICENSE". A proclaimed full time commitment to my 'work of art' is consummated each day at Kitt Brook Studio in Canterbury Connecticut. Presently over 100 framed works are available for purchase.My studio and home gallery are open by appointment and semi annual 'Open Studio' events. I have attained membership in numerous art organizations and participate in juried competitions, shows, and exhibits throughout New England.
